About us
The Community Food Club is a non-profit, member based grocery store in Grand Rapids, MI. Low-income members pay between $11 and $15 for a 30 day membership and are able to shop using points based on their household size. Most members receive 9 to 11 days’ worth of foods during each membership period. Members can shop as often as they’d like and select foods that fit their needs. Traditional grocery store pricing is turned upside down at the Community Food Club – fruits and vegetables are the lowest priced items while processed foods and snack items are among the highest priced. This incentivizes healthy options and increases access to fresh, nutritious foods on a consistent basis. At the Food Club, we are committed to always stocking fresh fruits vegetables, meat, cheese, milk, and eggs. Fruits and vegetables make up 58% of the items members select – double the amount distributed by traditional grocery stores. Our Mission: The Community Food Club is an innovative and dignified approach to food security rooted in consumer choice, member participation, and access to healthy foods.

🎉How do you celebrate your amazing members, customers, clients? 🛒☕️ Last Friday, we expressed our gratitude to our wonderful members! We brought in Clique Coffee to treat everyone to delicious espressos, coffees, and Magical Hot Chocolate – trust us, it lives up to its name! A huge thank you to our Member Advisory Committee for setting up a build-your-own tea station and a cookie station, adding extra sweetness to the day. 🍪 Your ongoing support and loyalty mean the world to us, and we can't thank you enough for being part of our community. Here's to many more moments of joy and connection together! 💙☕️ #CustomerAppreciation #FoodClub #Gratitude

Special thanks to the CX Design and Consumer Insights Team at Priority Health! During their time with us, the team helped pack elbow noodles and diapers, ensuring they made their way onto our shelves for our community members in need. We're deeply grateful for your generosity and hard work, and we can't wait to welcome you back soon! 💙 #CommunitySupport #VolunteerAppreciation #FoodClub #PriorityHealth 🌽

We're incredibly grateful to the local Bank of America team's for spearheading a cereal drive in support of the Food Club. Their generosity brought in an abundance of cereal, which flew off our shelves within just 24 hours! 🥣 Did you know cereal is one item that we find particularly challenging to source? While close to half of the food in our store is generously donated by partners, cereal is rarely among those donations. And with nearly half of our inventory being purchased, cereal often doesn't fit within our budget. That's why cereal drives like this one are so invaluable to us! Thank you, Bank of America! Your efforts make a real difference in the lives of our community members. 💙 #FoodDrive #Community #CerealDrive #FoodClub 🌽

We're thrilled to share that we were featured in the community spotlight with WOOD TV8 and Casey Jones. Thank you for the opportunity! At the Food Club, our mission is to provide equitable access to affordable nutrition while empowering individual choice. "That’s the cornerstone of the food club, dignity. Socioeconomic status should not dictate a customer service experience or the food people have access to. The food club doesn’t exist to just feed families, it’s there to nourish them." 🛒💙 #CommunitySpotlight #FoodClub #EquitableAccess Read More: https://lnkd.in/gzMAcshn

“When everyone’s at the table, figuring out solutions, that is the ideal situation.” Food insecurity continues to be a rising concern and not only relevant in Kent County. We resonate with Second Harvest Heartland of Minnesota that our numbers are continuing to grow and that additional measures need to be taken to support those in need of food. In order to address this issue, we need to have businesses, government groups, and nonprofits collaborating as we did in the height of the pandemic. Hats off to Second Harvest Heartland for taking on an ambitious, yet necessary, goal. Read more about Second Harvest Heartland: https://lnkd.in/g47j7_ZC
