Wise Men Distillery

My husband absolutely LOVES bourbon. This establishment is very well advertised from the road so you can pick out where to go with ease. My husband ordered a total of two old fashions and I was happily surprised to find out they had rum, and vodka options available. I had the Lake Michigan sunset and key lime pie. Drinks were a good price range for ingredients used. I enjoyed that you have the option to bring in outside food and play games while you enjoy drinks. Overall a great space to rest with good people, good vibes and atmosphere.

Our girl Payton for the win today. First time in and she was the best! Very knowledgeable about all the drinks we inquired about and the execution was equally impressive.

Sam the bartender is AMAZING. She always has the best drink recommendations when people don't know what they want and she always gives extremely good service!

I've written a wonderful review on this business for their downtown location, go check it out if you want more details. Both locations share staff so you've likely seen the wonderful employees here if you've been at the downtown location. This location is closer to the airport and open year round. The drinks are absolutely amazing, the service is top notch, and they even have a good size parking lot which is FREE! You can get some popcorn from a old time popcorn maker, and they have indoor/outdoor seating. If you go in October your likely to find the employees completely decked out in costumes. Definitely my favorite cocktails in Grand Rapids. The Key Lime cocktail is to die for.

Started off my birthday month with a trip to Wise Men Distillery on Broadmoor!

They are located in an industrial/factory type building which can make it easy to miss, like a modern, unintentional speakeasy, but that's what makes it fun! Wise Men doesn't have expansive seating, but their facility is clean and gives off a homey, woodsy feel. They have a window behind the bar and you can see the Stills that house their liquors.

For drinks, I started off with the Wise Men Old Fashioned. I am a huge fan of Old Fashioned's, and this one did not disappoint! Their Wise Men Old Fashioned is made with White Whiskey, house made Brown Sugar Simple Syrup, house made Bitters, and garnished with an Orange Twist. The drink is delicious and comes in at a great price point of $11.

For the next round, I got the Lake Michigan Sunset, and my husband got the Coffee Boy.

The Lake Michigan Sunset is made with White Rum, Vodka, Gin, Apple Pie Moonshine, Craft sour, and Cranberry Juice. A dangerous drink, as there is a mix of 4 different liquors that you can't taste; all of the flavors meld so well together and it tastes like juice.

The Coffee Boy consists of house made Coffee infused with Vodka, house made cinnamon syrup, vanilla cream, and heavy cream. This is a great drink for anyone that loves their coffee with cream and sugar. The creams slightly overpowered the rest of the drink, but overall it was still enjoyable.

We had a great first experience. Their liquor is on point, cocktails taste amazing, and service was impeccable. I look forward to coming back and maybe sitting outside so that I can play Corn Hole while I enjoy my drinks.

The drinks were quite good. The service wasn't great. It was late evening and getting nearer to closing though, so maybe that had something to do with it. We will try it again sometime and see. Like I said, the drinks were really good so it's worth a try.

A slow Saturday afternoon found us at Wise Men. Located in an industrial park, don't let the location fool you. The bartender was also one of the owners and extremely knowledgable. We tried a couple of drinks and a flight of their core offering. Loved the Apple Pie Moonshine, it would make a great gift.

Take some time and sit at the bar, it was a learning exeperience and nice to hear someone who loves their craft. Try the Vodka and White Rum, for sure . This is a great place to spend an afternoon.
