Do they have outdoor seating since COVID?

      A:

Yes they do. They have a bunch. They required reservations a couple weeks ago. You should check their website before you arrive.

    • Q:

      Happy hour times?

      A:

I'm not certain whether they are offering happy hour during reopening due to COVID. Before the pandemic shut down restaurants, happy hour was 4-6.

Walk across the street & have a seat - trust me. I'm giving you great advice!

On entry, there's a wait to be seated sign, next to a you have 2hrs to leave once seated type sign. Cool, must be a happening place. The gal took us to be seated, the table was already occupied so, back we went while they sorted it. She was nice & apologetic.

We were given water & a moment to look over the menu. We'd really stopped by for a couple of brews on a whim from a wonderful stop across the street.
We each selected a beer under the hops passport BOGO. Though staff acknowledged the passport and stand, the discount wasn't applied & we had to point it out. We passed on food, as we weren't all that hungry and, more importantly, our wait staff didn't show back up until both glasses were empty.

As for the beer. I had the dark & felt it had a crayon flavor that I found off-putting, & I love dark beers/ adore nitro brews. As a non-IPA drinker, I preferred the double IPA. I'm not sure what that means... was the IPA bad since I preferred it? I just dunno.

Anywho, there are multiple New Holland stops in the book that we won't be using. This was a 1 and done for us. They did honor the BOGO, but it took a bit.

Overall, a disappointment, despite the awesome dragon selfie photo op

We celebrated my friend's birthday here and the dinner was great! I had a pulled pork sandwich and my friends had chicken salad, salmon and another type of salad....
I honestly loved how huge this place was. On the outside you would never imagine it having seating upstairs too. Even though they were busy, the service was still pretty great!

Friends and I went here for dinner on a Wednesday night. Our server greeted us promptly and came at regular intervals to check on us. We started with the Buffalo cauliflower that was good and not too spicy and the pretzel app. Instead of melted cheese to dip the pretzel they give you a cheese spread. The fried chicken sandwich was good with homemade French fries.
My friends had the grilled cheese with tomato fondue and the pulled pork sandwich.

One of my friends didn't like the drink she ordered and the server replaced it at no charge.
When I am in Grand Rapids again I would come here again.

I hadn't been to New Holland for a mean yet, only for drinks, so I was excited to check it out in a different way! We made a reservation and it worked out perfectly because they were pretty busy! We sat on their patio area and it is such a nice spot and really adds alot of tables to their restaurant. It was the perfect weather but even if we were a chilly they had outdoor heaters.

I had the passion blaster for my beer which is a rose ale w/ passion fruit and raspberry. SO tasty. I love fruity beers so this was perfect. The 16oz was $6 which I felt was pretty fairly priced and honestly cheap!

For the meal I had the Midwest Cubano and was able to choose between fries and veggies. I thought it was kinda weird that they serve raw veggies instead of a cooked veggies option but I still chose that as it seemed like a good fresh option to put next to the hot sandwich! The sandwich was really good. I liked that it was served on a pretzel bun and overall it was tasty and I'm glad I ordered it. There were a lot of other menu items I was intrigued by so it was hard to choose!

Always a great time at the Knick! They have one of the best bars & vibes in GR. We always get the pizza pinwheels to start. I decided to mix it up this time around for dinner and went with the "CLUCKIN' GOOD BOWL". This was very good, could've used a little more gravy but still. Think of this dish as a souped up better version of the KFC Famous Bowl.

Great location, great ambiance, and great beer

I only had the beer here so I cannot speak to the food, but the place is big and welcoming, the staff is friendly, and the beer (stouts specially) are awesome

It was really fun to try additional beers I am not able to get back home

Met up with a friend for happy hour on a Thursday and enjoyed $2 off appetizers and cocktails. The knickerbocker had some delicious gin cocktails we enjoyed. Our waiter was laid back, but attentive and relatively knowledgeable about the menu to give us some good recs. We started with the spinach artichoke dip, which was fine. Not enough dip for chip ratio... but I tend to load up my chips. The pear salad was refreshing and full of delicious veggies including beets. Next, we sampled the chicken and waffle pizza. It was good, but mainly just a play on sweet and salty/ savory. I would've preferred if it was a bit spicier. I absolutely loved the pizza of the month, the chicken enchilada pizza. It was a great balance of flavors, just the right amount of heat and the tomatillo sauce for the base was delicious. The restaurant is spacious and modern. They have a store where you can buy beer or a growler to take home. Their bathrooms are so much fun! You can wash soap and dry all at the same sink. Happy we picked this place for a girl's night. Would love to come back.

If you're going to invade Beer City, you better bring your A game, and I have to say I think New Holland did a great job with this out post in Grand Rapids.

The feel of the Knickerbocker is completely different than the pub in Downtown New Holland. Where the pub has comf, cozy feel to it, the Knick comes in with modern designs and sharp clean lines. They replace local charm with big city flair.

If you're a fan of the beers, which I am, I think it would be difficult to have a bad time here. So many choices along with great cocktails from their own distillery and staff that does a great job taking care of the customers.

I have never had a chance to eat here, but I will say the food looks tremendous and I'm looking forward to sampling it.

Either way great place to meet friends for drinks or a meal.

Wow, once you walk into the brewery you are taken back bc it's massive & looks brand new!

Gift shop to your left and bar to your right with ample seating upstairs/ downstairs.

      Beer/ Bar Menu:
A vast selection of beers/ cocktails, something for everyone in your party to enjoy. Food wise: burgers, pizza, salads and apps you'd find at most bars

      What did we order:
1 beer flight ( passion blaster, tales of gold, ladder plan, cabin fever)
      1 sangria

Service was great, asked for local recommendations and they were eager to help. We came in at 4:30pm on a Thursday so it wasn't too busy.. honestly a perfect time, I'd love to come back with a group it has so many seats/ picnic tables and high tops!

      For the beer connoisseur:

Their speciality is Dragons Milk which is Bourbon Barrel Aged Stouts 11-17% ABV. They are very good and a must try when in!
