#Michigan is working to increase veterans' access and accessibility to the great outdoors. Today, Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Director Scott Bowen visited Michigan Veteran Homes (MVH) to share with MVH #veterans the opportunities and benefits available to them through DNR, and opportunities to be excited about in the future. He was joined by Pete Eardley, commissioner on the Michigan Natural Resources Commission. Notably, he discussed their excitement over the proposed executive budget, which includes free access for veterans to all of MI's state parks, expanding veteran access to Michigan's great outdoors. Michigan Veteran Homes (MVH) is proud to serve veterans requiring skilled nursing care, as part of the State Veterans Homes program that dates back to the post-Civil War era. MVH operates 3 of the 165 State Veterans Homes across the nation who are providing long-term care to veterans and their loved ones.
