2024 marks 140 years of family-owned business. Throughout 2024 we’ll share a number of posts aimed at celebration and gratitude to all the wonderful people that made the first 140 so successful. Thank you and we hope you enjoy. In the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, Grand Rapids Label’s products were produced via letterpress and powered by a foot treadle. While we no longer have any of our vintage letterpress machines at our plant, we visited Freshly Squeezed Print Shop who produces invitations, business cards, and more all still using the same letterpress printing methods using an Oldstyle Chandler & Price dating back over 100 years ago. Be sure to check out Freshly Squeezed for invitations for your next event and thanks for having us!

"This is NOT an April fools joke" 2024 marks 140 years of family-owned business for Grand Rapids Label. Originally known as Seymour & Muir Printing Co., we've seen quite a few changes since printing railroad schedules and Houdini posters. Over all that time, what hasn't changed is our commitment to earning the trust of our clients and to "make it right, guaranteed." Throughout 2024 we’ll share a number of posts aimed at celebration and gratitude to all the wonderful people that made the first 140 so successful. Thank you and we hope you enjoy. In 1923, Grand Rapids Label produced a Scottish book of poetry aptly named "Wee Bits O' Scotch Humor". Take a listen as 4th generation family members Bill Muir and John Crosby attempt to read a passage from the book. Let us know how you think they did!

Take a look at the 1988 December Edition of Converting Magazine highlighting the installation of the Propheteer 700 at GRLabel. Recently decommissioned, this Propheteer was revolutionary in its time allowing for a 10-color process and 500 feet per minute. Would you believe the employee in the magazine is still working at GRLabel today?
